Lord of the Rings favourites reunited for Hobbit prequel

The Lord of the Rings was one of the most successful film series in history.
And if the long-awaited teaser trailer of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is anything to go by, Peter Jackson's return to Middle Earth should be successful both critically and commercially.
It starts with Ian Holm as the old hobbit Bilbo writing a letter to his young nephew Frodo, one of the heroes of the series.
He says: 'My dear Frodo, you asked me once if I had told you everything there was to know about my adventures.
'While I can honestly say I have told you the truth, I may not have told you all of it.'
Tolkien's first foray into Middle Earth has been split into two films, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: There and Back Again, and the cast and crew endured a mammoth 254 day shoot to recreate the thousand-plus pages.

Thinner in a flash!

If you’ve got a party this week and you’re feeling fat and frumpy, fear not. It is possible to appear thinner — either by  getting rid of bloating, or simply tricking the eye — in no time at all. 
Here, we show you how...


TAKE A BATH: Add a cup of Epsom salts to a bath and lie there for 15 minutes. The magnesium sulphate in the salts help to draw out fluid from your body, and helping you to look slimmer.

GET UP AND GO WALKING: After each meal, go for a brisk walk for at least five minutes. Moving your body helps release air that has been trapped in your digestive system.

ONLY DRINK STILL WATER: Avoid caffeine, alcohol and fruit juices — their high acid content can irritate your gastro-intestinal tract, causing swelling. Fizzy drinks bubbles distend your tummy.  


GET A TAN: Stars count on looking 5lb thinner by getting a spray-tan. If you’re baring your legs in a dress, try extra misting on the inner and outer legs to make them look narrower.
Celebrity favourite Bobbi Brown’s shimmer brick make-up is foolproof. Use on your face, neck and arms.

ENHANCE YOUR FEATURES: Use a cream bronzer under your jawline and cheekbones to make your face look more angular. Pulling your hair up into a high ponytail or a half up-do will create height and make your face look slimmer. 

GET THE RIGHT UNDERWEAR: Control underwear is a girl’s best friend in the party season — it can transform your limbs from lumpy and bumpy to smooth and sleek. Pick the item which targets your problem area, be it lifting your bottom, flattening your stomach, slimming hips or defining your waist. 

STAND UP STRAIGHT: The quickest way to look like you have dropped a dress size is to stop slouching. Stand tall, with your shoulders pulled back and down, and imagine a string is at the top of your head, pulling you upwards.

Encontro das águas

O Encontro das Águas é um fenômeno que acontece na confluência entre o rio Negro, de água negra, e o rio Solimões, de água barrenta, onde as águas dos dois rios correm lado a lado sem se misturar por uma extensão de mais de 6 km. É uma das principais atrações turísticas da cidade de Manaus.

Esse fenômeno acontece em decorrência da diferença entre a temperatura e densidade das águas e, ainda, à velocidade de suas correntezas: o Rio Negro corre cerca de 2 km/h a uma temperatura de 22°C, enquanto que o Rio Solimões corre de 4 a 6 km/h a uma temperatura de 28°C.[1]

No período do rio cheio que vai de janeiro a julho é a melhor época para fazer um passeio para observar o encontro das águas, uma vez que as saídas dentre os igarapés são em canoas motorizadas. Pode-se entrar nos furos e braços de rios e ter a possibilidade de ver animais como: pássaros, macacos e preguiças.

O passeio sempre é realizado no Parque Ecológico do Janauari, onde também pode-se observar e tirar fotos das plantas aquáticas Vitórias-Régias. No final do passeio é em um restaurante flutuante, com a comida típica amazonense. Está em construção uma plataforma de observação do encontro projetada por Oscar Niemeyer.

Parada na Ilha de Terra Nova. Comunidade de pescadores. Aqui tivemos uma demonstração da extração do Látex.


E depois uma longa caminhada na Floresta para ver a Vitoria Regia.
